Learn the Ingredients of Great Guitar Playing

Hello Everyone and Welcome to Tasty Guitar,

My name Rick Stickney and I'm a guitarist/instructor based in Las Vegas, USA.

As your instructor, my utmost goal is making sure your reach YOUR goals on guitar. Whether that is learning to play your favorite tunes, writing your own, becoming a solid rhythm player or a great improviser....I look forward to making you the player YOU wanna be.

Every guitarist goes through ruts or has hit a brick wall in their progress. For beginners this may be making the leap from open chords to barre chords. For lead players this is usually breaking out of the "blues box". For more advanced players it may be how to play over chord changes or comp better. The good news is I have been through all the same challenges and can teach you how to overcome them- in a fraction of the time it would take you on your own,  saving you ALOT of headaches and frustration!

So why "Tasty" guitar?

Well, "tasty" has always been musician slang for playing something that is tasteful, beautiful, cool, in the pocket, groovin'.....delicious! There is no set rule on what is "tasty", it is up to the listener, but you know it when you hear it! So my goal on this site and in my lessons is to give guitar players the tools to play tasty. If someone comes up to you and says "That was some tasty playing" you are on your way.
